5 Features of the Welsh Single Unified Safeguarding Review

 Thursday 10th November 2022, 1.00-2.30pm

It doesn’t make sense when a single incident gives rise to the need for more than one type of review. Especially in a system already overburdened by layers of recommendations & action plans.

How would it look to have one process, one report format & one action plan format? What is there to lose? Clearly there would be some gains.

The project itself would require reorganisation at many levels, from business units through to those who oversee & are responsible for governance.

If the process included measures to search previous reviews of all kinds & recommendations by theme, that creates an interesting opportunity. In each & every review we should have at our fingertips the detail of the  recommendations that have gone before. Avoiding repetition & improving each time. This information is not always easily identifiable in our current system. There is a workstream in place for this to happen in Wales and there is much for us to learn from this.

These elements have the potential to strengthen & reinforce the power of sector led improvement.

For this FREE virtual training opportunity, I am joined by Liane James, Project Lead – Single Unified Safeguarding Review, Welsh Government.

I am Donna Ohdedar, & I support review commissioners, participants, quality assurance professionals & reviewers to improve the quality of reviews. I want to share a live conversation I will be having with Liane where we will respond to questions from you, the live audience.

You are invited to this free live podcast workshop designed for those involved in Safeguarding Adult Reviews, Domestic Homicide Reviews & Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews.

Join us for 90 minutes of discussion plus Q & A, where we will share our thoughts & invite questions from you, the audience. Our aim is to shed light on the situations we encounter in reviews just like the ones you contribute to, read, quality assure or write.
