How to Improve Your Reviews Using Themes from the Last Triennial Analysis

Whether you are involced in Local Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews, Safeguarding Adults Reviews or Domiestic Homicide Reviews there is an opporutnity from the lastest Triennial Analysis of serious Case Reviews to create improvment. We see so often the themes of professional curiousity and challenge arising. What are the new and different questions we might ask to avoid generating recurring themes and learning?
When we have two tangled issues arising such as neglect and poverty, not only do we have overlaps, we tend to make assumptions. It's time for us to take responsibilty to develop ourselves, and develop this interface. Where do we start with untagling questions like these.
One of the biggest challenges partnerhsip sface is developing... Commonly action plans are not published and it's time to unick th reasons for this and create change.

Jonathan Dickens, Professor of Social Work, University of East Anglia
Jonathan Dickens is a Professor of Social Work. He joined the School in 1998. Before coming to UEA, Jonathan worked in London as a local authority Social Worker and then as a Legal Officer, advising and acting on behalf of the local authority in court proceedings relating to children. From 1994 to 1997 he lived and worked in Romania, as a trainer and consultant to teams of Romanian social workers. His special interests include child care law and the social policy contexts of social work, particularly the international dimensions of these issues.
Jonathan is the author of two leading textbooks for social work students, both published by Routledge: 'Social Work and Social Policy: An Introduction' (2nd ed 2016) and 'Social Work, Law and Ethics' (2013). He has also written numerous research reports and papers - see the publications section for more information.
