 Blackburn with Darwen Safeguarding Adults Board

The Blackburn with Darwen Safeguarding Adult Board is seeking an independent reviewer to complete a report on a newly commissioned Safeguarding Adult Review (SAR).

 

Case Overview

The review relates to a gentleman with care and support needs in his 40s. The individual lived predominantly in Blackburn with Darwen up until his death, he had mental health needs including a diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia and depression and a history of substance misuse. He is a suspected victim of cuckooing.  He reported being assaulted by people he knew, and later that day he went missing and was found a week later in local woodlands having passed away.

  • Dual Diagnosis (Co-Presenting) Pathways
  • Identification of and responses to Cuckooing
  • Management of S117 Mental Health Act legal status
  • Multi-agency working.
