Independent Scrutiny Work for Safeguarding Children Partnership
Cheshire East Safeguarding Children Partnership seeks to commission some independent scrutiny work related to contextual safeguarding.
A Joint Targeted Area Inspection (JTAI) in 2022 made recommendations for Cheshire East. Not all of these have been fulfilled. Whilst there is a strategy in place, there has significant changes in personnel across the partnership. The strategy needs more structure and tighter wording around roles and responsibilities. The partnership has identified the development of a multi agency contextual safeguarding service as a priority, including creating a scorecard, intelligence and mapping. This piece of work will begin with in audit and is expected to be undertaken throughout January and February.
The process will involve face to face meetings in Cheshire East plus a presentation and report to the partnership at the end of the process. It is expected that this work will be undertaken throughout January and February 2025.
