Accredited SILP™ Reviewers who join Momentum receive opportunities to apply through Review Consulting to undertake SILP reviews.

Not yet SILP accredited?

Leicester Safeguarding Children Partnership

Leicester’s Safeguarding Children Partnership (LSCP) is seeking an Independent Reviewer and Chair to lead a Local Child Safeguarding Practice Review (LCSPR) as detailed below.

Overview

This LCSPR will focus on placements outside the local authority area, the quality of care provided in these placements, analysis of placement changes, protocols ensuring the child’s safety, and support for children with complex needs.

Review Themes

The review will likely explore the following themes:

Suicide
Children’s mental health
Children with complex needs
Emotional well-being of looked-after children in residential care
Placement stability
Therapeutic relationships
Voice of the child and family
Placements outside of local authority area
Use of unregulated placements

Scope of the Review

The review will cover a five-year period and span at least two Local Authority areas. The Independent Reviewer will analyse information obtained during the rapid review process and through the Partnership. Additional IMRs will not be required, although further information can be requested if needed.

What if I lack experience?

New reviewers begin their independent review journey every day. Draw on the relevant experience you have from your background, the soft skills you can bring to this review & the vision you have for the review in question. A well crafted application with reference to the circumstances of the particular review is more relevant and desirable than a standard application designed for any review which references a bank of review experience.

Who deals with contracts, commissioning, invoices, complaints etc?
