DHR for the Leicestershire and Rutland Safeguarding Adults Board and Safeguarding Children Partnership
Leicestershire and Rutland Safeguarding Adults Board and Safeguarding Children Partnership is seeking to commission an independent reviewer for a DHR.
Summary of the Case:
In September 2023, Leicestershire Police were contacted by East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) following the report of a women being stabbed at an address in Leicestershire. The victim was still alive at the scene, but later died of her injuries. Initial examination revealed that her head injury was consistent with a gunshot. Her partner was arrested at the scene for serious assault - a police search of the address recovered a viable firearm and ammunition. A post-mortem led to the recovery of a bullet from her head wound.
The Police are investigating the death as a criminal investigation and the suspect has been charged with the offence of murder and firearms offences.
