Liverpool Safeguarding Children Partnership wants to commission an Independent Reviewer to undertake a Local Child Safeguarding Practice Review (LCSPR).Â
The partnership hopes to recruit an independent reviewer from a Black African background or with specific experience and knowledge in three areas (as below). There is a SILP accredited reviewer who is available to work alongside an applicant from our team on this review should you wish to apply. The three areas to consider in relation to the experience and knowledge required are:
Â
• Child Protection systems and processes
• Neglect linked to the death of a child. Â
• Working with families of Black African ethnicity, culture, and identity.Â
It would be important to understand the death of this child from neglect against the family’s lifestyles, language, religion and beliefs systems, so the strengths and challenges for this family and partner agency working with them can be properly examined and any lessons learnt.
 Â

New reviewers begin their independent review journey every day. Draw on the relevant experience you have from your background, the soft skills you can bring to this review & the vision you have for the review in question. A well crafted application with reference to the circumstances of the particular review is more relevant and desirable than a standard application designed for any review which references a bank of review experience.Â
