Who can apply for SILP Reviews?

Accredited SILP™ Reviewers who join Momentum receive opportunities to apply through Review Consulting to undertake SILP reviews.  

Not yet SILP accredited?

It is useful to browse the reviews on offer at the same time as undertaking your studies in SILP School. Even if you have not yet graduated or signed up with us, please do take a look. This will improve your understanding & your potential fit for new work that may arise in future

3 Domestic Homicide Review's and 1 Local Child Safeguarding Practice Review for the Shropshire Safeguarding Community Partnership 


Shropshire Community Safeguarding Partnership 
is commissioning a number of reviewers for 3 Domestic Homicide Review's and one Local Child Safeguarding Practice Review.  

Themes in the reviews:

DHR 1 

  • Coercive and controlling behaviour
  • Evidence based prosecutions and the role they play
  • Accumulative risks associated with mental health, domestic abuse and suicide
  • Learning from the Domestic Abuse thematic inspection of Probation

DHR 2

  • Coercive and controlling behaviour
  • Safeguarding Children from Domestic Abuse
  • Involvement of courts and CAFCASS in acrimonious separation of parents where domestic abuse is prevalent
  • Suicide

DHR 3

  • Unconscious bias towards male victims of domestic abuse
  • PIT STOP and its effectiveness
  • Sharing information about accumulative risk associated with the trio of vulnerabilities (mental health, alcohol and substance misuse and domestic abuse) in order to better understand the impact on children.
  • Suicide
  • Lack of referrals to substance abuse services

CSPR:

  • Injuries in babies and children under 2  
  • Unseen Men  
  • Specialist support following traumatic birth 
  • Cross Border working
  • Information sharing with and by Primary Care

The Independent Reviewer will be required to submit:

  • curriculum vitae (CV) 
  • expression of interest letter

A well crafted application with reference to the circumstances of the particular review is more relevant and desirable than a standard application designed for any review which references a bank of review experience.
